You have a business in Bursa, or you want to sell to businesses and customers there. Maybe you run a production line in an organized industrial zone in Nilüfer, a store in Osmangazi, or a furniture workshop in İnegöl. Maybe you are a foreign company that buys parts or textiles from Bursa and wants to be found by suppliers, or one that wants to open a Turkish branch. You have a website, but the phone calls and emails it brings in are fewer than you hoped. So one day you typed "SEO services Bursa" into Google to see what should be done. This article explains, in plain language, what a business in Bursa should expect from SEO, which pages actually help, and how the work runs from start to finish. I am Ümit Kırkoç, a web designer and SEO consultant who works alone from Istanbul, and where it matters I will say clearly what my own SEO services cover and what they do not.
SEO, in short, is the work that makes your website show up when your customers search on Google. You do not pay for each click the way you do with ads, and when it is set up properly it keeps bringing in visitors for months. Bursa has a particular structure, though. It is a major industrial center and, at the same time, a busy city of local trade and tourism. The customers of these two worlds search in very different ways, so applying one method to everybody does not work.
Why SEO in Bursa is really two different worlds
When you think of Bursa, industry probably comes first: automotive and its supplier network, textiles and ready-to-wear clothing, machinery, tooling and molds, food production. The customer of these companies is usually another company. A purchasing manager, an engineer or an owner notices a need one morning and starts searching. On the other side is the local city: restaurants, clinics, hair salons, repair shops, furniture stores, shops selling things the city is known for, such as candied chestnuts or silk, and hotels and guesthouses near Uludağ and the old village of Cumalıkızık. The customer here is usually an individual who is looking for something nearby.
These two groups search very differently, so the first job is to decide which group you belong to. Some businesses serve both. A textile company that sells wholesale and also runs a retail store is a good example. In that case you need two separate families of pages, one for each kind of customer. I will explain how below.
If you are a foreign reader, the same split applies to you. A buyer in Europe or the United States who is looking for a Bursa supplier is behaving like the industrial searcher. A foreign resident or visitor looking for a dentist or a hotel in Bursa is behaving like the local searcher. Knowing which of these two people you want to reach decides almost everything else.
How does a customer in Bursa search on Google?
Let us accept one thing first: your customer may not type the word the way you would. You might give your product a technical name, while the person doing the buying types what the product is for. The table below summarizes the four basic kinds of search I come across in Bursa. It is not a measurement, only a summary of general observation and logic.
The table shows how many different intentions can sit behind a search. Even the same two words can mean different things coming from different people. Let us go through the kinds one by one.
Industrial and sourcing searches
A person looking for a manufacturer or a wholesaler often does not type "Bursa" at all. They might search for "heat treatment for automotive suppliers," "textile dye house contract work" or "mold making." Sometimes they add a city name and sometimes they do not. When they do, they usually want to see the nearest company that can do the job, because shipping, samples and on-site visits matter in this trade. The page that wins you a new customer is the one that can say, "I do this work, with this capacity, in these materials, with these certificates."
If you are a foreign buyer, you may be searching in English, and many Bursa firms have no English pages at all. That gap is an opportunity for a supplier who fills it with clear, useful information.
Product and service searches
Here the person searches for a specific product, for example "towels wholesale Bursa," "furniture manufacturer İnegöl" or "packaging boxes Bursa." Again, your page has to describe a particular product and its details. A line at the top of your home page that says "quality and reliable production" answers no search at all.
Local searches
Someone in Bursa who needs a hairdresser, a dentist, a tire shop or a restaurant usually types a district or neighborhood: "Nilüfer dentist," "Osmangazi car wash," "Mudanya seafood restaurant." For these searches Google tends to show the map and business listings first. That means your website is not the only thing that counts. Your Google Business Profile, the free listing with your address, hours and reviews, counts just as much.
Tourism and sightseeing searches
Searches about Uludağ, Cumalıkızık, Mudanya and Gölyazı are partly seasonal. Queries such as "where to stay in Uludağ" or "things to do in Bursa" also attract a lot of travel guide sites. For a business in this area the goal is not to beat everyone on those broad searches. The goal is to be visible on clear searches about your own hotel, tour or service.
Which pages does an industrial company in Bursa need?
A problem I often see on industrial websites is that everything is squeezed into one "About us" page and one "Products" page. Neither Google nor the customer can work out what is what. A separate page for each main product or service works better.
The layout in the picture lists what a single service page should contain. The service and the city go in the headline. Right under it comes who the service suits, then capacity, material and certificate details, then common questions and contact information.
The logic is simple. A purchasing manager is seeing you for the first time and wants to know within a few minutes whether you can do the job. If the answer is easy to find, they ask for a quote. If it is not, they close the page and look at the next company.
Putting trust on the page
Trust takes up a great deal of space in business-to-business sales. A photo of your factory, your machine park, the materials you work with, your quality certificates, your sampling process and your typical delivery flow should all be visible on the page. A reference list helps too, but you need permission from a customer before you name them, so do not skip that step. You do not have to publish numbers. Even saying "scheduled according to order quantity and deadline" is more concrete than a vague "fast delivery."
Differences between textiles and automotive suppliers
In textiles, buyers mostly want to know the product type, the fabric, the minimum order quantity and the production method. In automotive supply, the process, the quality system, dimensional tolerance, part type and certificates come first. That is why the pages of these two sectors cannot be written from the same template. In textiles, photos matter a lot. In automotive, technical clarity and trust in the documents carry more weight. Where production details are trade secrets, I agree with you on which information can be stated openly.
Pages in other languages
Many Bursa companies sell abroad. Their customers search in German, English or another language. If you keep your site only in Turkish, appearing in those searches is very hard. A foreign-language page works better when it is written around the questions a buyer in that country asks, not just translated from the Turkish. Next to the translation, delivery terms, shipping and certificate information should be explained in a way that suits that market. If your main audience is English-speaking, this is the most valuable page set you can build.
How does local SEO work for businesses in Bursa?
For a business with a shop, a clinic or a restaurant, things are different. Here the Google profile and local visibility matter as much as the website. When someone does a "near me" style search on their phone, Google shows the map and the profiles. If the address, phone number, opening hours and services on your profile are wrong, you remain incomplete however good your website is.
District and neighborhood pages
Bursa is a big city, and its districts are different from one another. People in Osmangazi, Nilüfer, Yıldırım, Mudanya, Gemlik, İnegöl, Gürsu and Kestel search around their own area. If you serve more than one district, it makes sense to write a separate and genuinely different page for each one. The critical point is this: if the pages are only copies with the district name swapped, they do not work. Google notices, and the visitor wastes time. Each page should carry something specific to the customer from that district, such as how to get to you, which neighborhoods you serve and the questions that come from that area.
This comparison shows why a single generic "Bursa" page is not enough. A generic page speaks to everyone and fully answers no one. A district page speaks directly to the person in that area.
Your Google Business Profile and reviews
For local businesses, reviews are a strong sign of trust. Honestly asking happy customers for a review, and replying briefly and politely to the ones you receive, is in your control. Buying fake reviews is against Google's rules and harms your reputation over time, so I do not recommend it.
Products Bursa is known for, and tourism
For things the city is known for, such as candied chestnuts, silk, towels, bathrobes, İskender kebab and Mudanya olive oil, the person searching is often outside the city and wants to order online. In that case the online store setup, shipping information, product descriptions and photos decide the result. For tourism businesses, what matters is updating pages with the seasons, refreshing photos and giving concrete details about the stay or the experience.
If you are a foreign company selling Turkish products abroad, the same rule holds. Describe the product, the packaging, the shipping options and the paperwork in the language of your buyer, and do not assume they already know the product.
Two example scenarios
The two scenarios below are hypothetical. They do not describe a real company. They are invented to show how the thinking goes.
Example scenario 1: A workshop making parts for automotive suppliers
Suppose there is a small-to-medium company in Nilüfer that produces machined metal parts for the automotive supply industry. Its site has a single "Our Products" page, a few photos and a contact form. The company wins a handful of new customers a year, and most of them come through personal contacts. The owner also wants to win customers from the internet.
In the first step, I clarify with the owner what work it does, which materials it uses and which kinds of parts it is strongest in. Then a separate page is planned for each main process, for example CNC machining, mold maintenance and serial production. On each page go the capacity information, the materials used, the quality control flow and the sampling process. If there are certificates, they are added as documents. The contact form is also shortened, because a purchasing manager would rather send a drawing or a short note about the need than fill in a long form.
No ranking can be guaranteed, but after this work the company gains a chance to appear for the phrases that describe the work it does. The quality of the inquiries changes as well. Instead of people who only ask "what is the price," people who want a quote for a specific job begin to arrive. That is the real benefit of SEO: reaching the right person matters more than reaching many people.
Example scenario 2: A dental clinic in Nilüfer and a fish restaurant in Mudanya
In the second scenario, imagine two separate local businesses. One is a dental clinic in Nilüfer, the other a fish restaurant on the Mudanya waterfront. Both have websites, but both are weak on the map and in reviews.
For the clinic, the approach looks like this: a separate, simple page for each treatment, texts that explain how the treatment goes and which questions come up often, correct opening hours and directions, and a fully completed list of services on the Google Business Profile. In healthcare, no wording that guarantees results to a patient or makes exaggerated promises should be used. Advertising and promotion rules apply in this field, and when in doubt it is right to consult a lawyer.
For the restaurant, the menu, the way to reserve, parking information, up-to-date photos and the products that change with the season come to the front. Because weekends are crowded, the reservation phone number and hours are written the same way everywhere. What the two businesses share is this: before making the site prettier, find the answers to the questions customers actually ask.
The timeline above shows that both scenarios move in a similar order. The durations change with the business and the competition. This is a rough sequence and a frame of expectations, not a promised schedule.
Step by step: how an SEO project runs in Bursa
Whatever kind of business you run, the process follows similar steps. The picture below summarizes them.
Let us look at each one a little more closely.
1. Assessment
First I look at your current site: which pages exist, which ones appear on Google, whether the site opens properly on a phone, how fast it is and whether the contact routes work. I also look at which searches your rivals appear for. Surprises are common at this stage. For example, you may find that the service that earns you the most money is mentioned in a single sentence on your site.
2. Keyword and page plan
I work out what your customer types when searching and set aside one page for each main search. Spreading the same topic over several pages makes the pages compete with each other. That is why the plan follows the rule of one page, one purpose.
3. Writing and fixing the pages
The pages are written with details that you can truly provide. The most valuable input here is you, because you know best the details of production, the service or the conversation with a customer. I tidy these up in plain language and set up the titles, descriptions and links between your own pages.
4. Tracking and improving
After publishing, I look at which pages are shown, which searches start to arrive and which of them turn into inquiries. In the first months, small corrections do a lot of good. SEO is not something you do once and leave, but it does not need constant heavy investment either.
AI search and businesses in Bursa
Today many people ask AI assistants instead of typing into Google. A purchasing manager might ask, "Which companies in Bursa make tooling for automotive suppliers, and what should I look out for?" These systems draw on information from websites when they write an answer. If your site is clear, organized and gives concrete information, the chance that your name appears in such answers grows. There is no guarantee, though.
The answer in the picture is fictional and was prepared only to show the logic. What matters is this: AI struggles to use pages that are vague and describe everything as "high quality." Writing clearly on your page what you do, who you do it for and under what conditions you work helps with Google and with these assistants alike.
The most common mistakes in Bursa
The mistakes I see in businesses are mostly simple and fixable. I have collected the important ones in the picture below.
Let me explain them a little.
Piling everything onto one page
Listing all your products and services on a single page tires both the reader and Google. A separate page for each main service is easier to understand and shows up more clearly in searches for that service.
Copying the same text across districts
As explained above, copied pages with only the district name changed do not help. A few pages with real content are better than many identical ones.
Hiding the signs of trust
Address, phone number, a photo of the factory or shop, certificates and a real contact person are either missing from many sites or buried at the bottom. Yet for someone who will work with you for the first time, these are the things that decide.
Focusing only on the home page
Many businesses put all their effort into the home page. But the customer often lands not on the home page but on the inner page that answers exactly what they searched for. The home page matters, but it is not enough alone.
A site that looks bad on a phone
In Bursa, too, most people open sites on their phones. Small buttons, a long form or a slow page make you lose customers. Testing this on your own phone costs nothing.
Expecting fast results and quitting
In SEO the first effects usually show up over months, not weeks. Quitting because there was no result in the first month wastes the effort. On the other hand, continuing for months with no result at all is not right either. After a few months, check whether your pages have begun to be shown on Google for the right phrases.
What can you do yourself?
You do not have to hand everything to a specialist. Some things you can do today yourself, and they often make a big difference.
None of the items on this list needs technical knowledge. Typing your business name and main service into Google and seeing what comes up, opening your site on a phone and browsing it like a customer, updating the details on your business profile and asking happy customers for reviews can all fit into one afternoon. They do not guarantee results, but they prepare the ground.
Look at how you appear in the search results
A result on Google has three parts: the page title, the address and a two-line description. Customers often click or skip based on this alone. Your title should include your service and the city, and your description should state one concrete benefit for the customer. The example below shows how a clear page and a vague list look side by side in the same search.
A generic list that tries to cover everything is usually pushed into the background by a result that plainly says what it offers. And this difference can be created without any budget, just by how you write.
When do you need a specialist?
There are things you can do yourself, but in some cases a specialist saves both your time and your money. The decision chart below summarizes it simply.
If your site has not been updated for years, if a technical problem keeps your pages from appearing on Google at all, if you serve in more than one language or more than one city, or if your competitors are clearly ahead of you, it makes sense to hand part of the work to a specialist. If the basic information on your site is already correct and the only problem is a lack of regular content, you can move forward on your own with advisory support.
What determines the cost of SEO services in Bursa?
I will not give a number in this article, because a correct number cannot be stated without seeing your business. But I can tell you clearly what makes the price change:
- The current state of your site. Building a site from scratch is a different job from fixing an existing one.
- The number of pages. A company with five main services and a manufacturer with thirty product groups do not need the same amount of work.
- The number of languages. Every extra language means separate pages written for the buyer who speaks it.
- Competition. In searches with many strong rivals, the duration and scope of the work grow.
- Content production. How much of the photos, technical descriptions and text you can provide yourself affects the cost.
- Continuity. A one-time cleanup and a monthly tracking and improvement arrangement are different scopes.
When you receive a quote, you should be able to see clear answers to "what will be done, when will it be delivered and how will it be reported." Be careful with vague packages that claim to cover everything, and with anyone who guarantees a ranking. Nobody can promise your position on Google with certainty.
How I work
I work alone from Istanbul, and working remotely with businesses in Bursa is not a problem. I hold meetings by phone or video call. The person you talk to is the person who does the work: I listen to you, examine the site, prepare the plan and edit the pages. First there is a short introductory call so I can understand what you need. Then I review the current situation and share in writing what needs to be done and what does not. The thing I do not want to do is sell you a package that will not help your business. Since my capacity is limited, I do not take on many jobs at the same time, which keeps the attention you get high. For very large projects that need a big team or a very wide staff, I should say up front that I may be limited.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take for SEO in Bursa to show results?
I cannot give an exact time. It depends on the competition, the current state of your site and the searches you are aiming at. Usually the first effects appear after some weeks, and a meaningful flow of inquiries over months. Whatever the search, leave room for a few months of waiting.
Should I optimize as an industrial company or as a local business?
It depends on who your customer is. If your customers are other companies, you need pages built around product, capacity and trust. If you serve individuals, districts, the map and reviews come to the front. If you have both kinds of customers, two separate groups of pages are set up.
Is a Turkish-only site enough?
If you only sell inside Turkey, it may be enough. If you export, or want to win foreign customers, separate pages in the target language will help you. They should be prepared around the questions of the buyer in that country, not as a plain translation.
Which is better, Google Ads or SEO?
They do different jobs. Ads give quick visibility but end when you stop paying. SEO starts more slowly, but once it is built it gives visibility for a longer time. For most businesses it is reasonable to set up the basic SEO first and support it with ads if needed.
Should I rebuild my old and messy website from scratch?
Not always. If the structure of the site is sound, improvement can be done through the content and the page layout. If the site is broken on phones, very slow or cannot be updated, a rebuild makes more sense. I can tell you clearly at the end of the review.
Does copying my competitor's website work?
Usually not. Copying what a rival does leaves you one step behind them. A better way is to answer the questions your rival does not answer and to show your own strength clearly.
Do I have to be in Bursa or meet you in person to work with you?
No. Meetings take place by phone or video call, and you share files and access securely. If needed, a single on-site meeting can also be arranged.
Do I need to do anything extra to appear in AI answers?
There is no separate trick. Clear, correct and up-to-date information on your site is the basic condition for these assistants to be able to use you as a source. Even so, there is no guarantee of appearing.
